Best 12ga pump = Maverick 88
- I have less than 6 months of experience with shotguns and while not one of the more talked about pump shotguns out there, the Maverick 88 is one that I would recommend everyone consider. I visited several sporting goods stores and viewed several makes and models before deciding to buy the Maverick 88. Shortly after buying the 88 I was introduced to sporting clays and my first time shooting a 25-shell sporting clays program I got 16 of the targets. Second round was with a group of more experienced shooters with over-under or semi-auto models shooting an intermediate level 25 bird program and got 14. Third round of 25 was at higher difficuly level as well and I still managed to tag 12. I was very happy with the ease of which the 88 pumped and how quickly it did so allowing me as much time as possible to get the second bird. Great gun and made in the USA. How can you ask for more.
