Trap Shooting
In trap events, shooters stand at different stations. There are five stations arranged in a line, 15m (16.4 yards) behind the front edge of the trap pit. A sixth station lies behind and to the left of station one.

Once on the line and ready, a shooter shoulders the gun and calls for the target(s). Single trap throws one target, while double trap throws two. The call must be clear. At that time, the target(s) fly/flies into the air and the shooter tries to break it (or them).

After shooter one has fired and the result is known, shooter six prepares to move into station one. Shooter one then prepares to move to station two after that shooter is done, and so on. The shooters move on down the line, with shooter five rotating to position six each time. This continues until all shooters have shot at the required number of targets (25, in single trap).

No shooter may close his or her gun until the previous shooter is done. The previous shooter may not leave the station until the next shooter is done, except the shooter in station five must immediately go to station six when his turn is complete. When moving from station to station, one must not disturb other shooters, or officials.

In single trap, you're allowed two shots per target. In double trap, you get two shots and two targets, so you'd better make them count.
