Hunting & Conservation OrganizationsFrom Ducks Unlimited to the National Wild Turkey Federation to the Northeast Big Buck Club and everything in between.
Alabama Waterfowl Association
The name says it all! Concentrating on preserving Alabama's hunting heritage and conserving waterfowl habitat. Ducks Unlimited
This non-profit organization works for the preservation and protection of migratory waterfowl habitat. Founded in 1937 by hunters. National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF)
Founded in 1973, this organization is headquartered in Edgefield, S.C., USA. It's a "national nonprofit conservation... organization dedicated to conserving wild turkeys and preserving hunting traditions." North American Hunting Club (NAHC)
A unique club, offerring an opportunity for hunters to field test gear, a chance to win free gear in each magazine recieved, hunt swaps and member ads, and more. North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA)
This "is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to foster, promote, and improve the versatile hunting dog breeds in North America; to conserve game by using well trained reliable hunting dogs before and after the shot; and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled breeding, which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs." Northeast Big Buck Club (NBBC)
The regional source for the northeast U.S., this club features whitetail measuring and record keeping, and more. Pheasants Forever (PF)
A "nonprofit conservation organization founded in 1982 in response to the decline of the ring-necked pheasant population." Quail Unlimited (QU)
"Established in 1981 to battle the problem of dwindling quail and wildlife habitat, Quail Unlimited has become the only national, nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the wise management and conservation of America's wild quail as a valuable and renewable resource." Roosevelt/Browning
This is a "classic firearms hunting club." Apparently their goal is to be a sort of Boone & Crockett for folks who use older guns/cartridges, but you have to be a member to get in their record book! Safari Club International (SCI)
This group says it's an "advocate for 45 million hunters and wildlife conservation worldwide." Sounds like a worthwhile concept to me. South Carolina Waterfowl Association
This group "strives to conserve South Carolina's waterfowl and wetland resources." U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance
This is "a national sportsman advocacy organization that protects and advances America's hunting, fishing and trapping heritage." Wild Wilderness
"Wild Wilderness believes that America's public recreation lands are a national treasure that must be financially supported by the American people and held in public ownership as a legacy for future generations." Women in the Outdoors (by NWTF)
NWTF says this program of theirs is all about "learning new skills, meeting people with similar interests and kicking back in the great outdoors." Sure does sound like fun! |
