The Winchester Model 62A was originally blued, but as you can see, the vast majority of the factory blue finish has been worn off - especially from the barrel. Of all the parts, the receiver retains the most blue. The balance of the gun is mostly brown patina or shiny steel.
When I first obtained this rifle, it was gunked up from many years of being handled and fired, followed by many years of being propped in a closet. It took a lot of time to clean it up properly, but I did so as a labor of love. I love guns anyhow, but this one is extra-special because it belonged to my late employer and friend, and was given to me by his widow.
