Coyote Tracks

My wife and I took these and other pics during a drive through the woods near our home, in the Ocala National Forest. I'll add to this collection from time to time as I get more.

I dropped a quarter beside each track to give you an idea of size.

Coyote tracks can be differentiated from dog tracks by the fact that coyotes usually have smaller, narrower feet than most domestic dogs of similar size. Also, the songdog's front paws are noticeably larger than their rear paws. Remember, rounder tracks without claw marks are probably cat tracks.

This is a fairly decent shot, though the ground's almost too hard here for good tracks.

The bottom track appears to be a front paw, and the one towards the top a rear.

Notice how narrow these appear when compared with domestic dog tracks.
