The old Mauser was pretty rough, and the bolt was no exception. I decided to try the simple polishing method known as jeweling, and it did a great job of prettying-up the bolt and hiding all the rust pits and other flaws. While I was at it, I did some work on the bolt shroud. I'd removed the bolt safety, which made the shroud look incomplete. So I used a welder to fill the big hole, then removed the flange and excess weld metal to create a much more streamlined shroud.
