I have had some good experiences tracking, even though it can be frustrating. I have learned a bit about tracking over the years, and thought it would be useful to share some of my experiences, along with some tips and tricks that may help you next time you need to track down a deer that didn't cooperate.

Good article. It is always a good idea to carry some type of bright tape or yarn on you deer hunts. Tracking wounded deer can get tough if snow is not present and you have a poor hit. Another tip is to look at the color of the blood. A bright red, frothy color indicates a lung shot. Also look at the tracks of the wounded deer. Is the blood beside the track or is it spraying on vegetation higher up. Gather all the clues you can.

“recovered every deer that I’ve hit”.
**********, I don’t believe that for a second.

You don’t have to believe me. Your doubt doesn’t make it any less true!
