The Bottom Line

This light is a good one, and based on it I would definitely consider purchasing more SureFire products in the future. There's not much more to say, other than I like this light, and now that it's mounted on my Rock River M4 with my ElZetta Light Holder, I am really going to miss having it in my hunting pack.

Guide Review - SureFire G2 Nitrolon High-Output Tactical Flashlight (Xenon)

The SureFire G2 Nitrolon is a good light. I used it in my pack most of deer season, and it was nice. I was able to put it in the pack and forget about it due to its compact size and light weight, and I didn't have to baby the pack since the light is so tough. Whenever I needed a good bright light, the SureFire was there and ready.

In the past, the lights I carried in the woods were either big and bulky, or small and wimpy. This nice little light changed all that. They say it's brighter than a light which uses four D-cells, and I don't doubt it. The size is only slightly larger that the mini Maglight that often disappointed me when I'd dig it out of my pack.

I like the plastic construction, it's tough and quiet, and doesn't suck the warmth out of your hands the way aluminum does. It's also lightweight and easier to grip than aluminum lights. The lens seems to be pretty scratch-resistant so far.

The only thing I might change would be the switch... I would enjoy a more positive off position to lock it out when carrying it in my pack. The paperwork mentions alignment marks, but this light doesn't have them. The paperwork is a bit too generic for my taste. I'd rather have less paperwork, as long as it applied specifically to my model of light.

This light fits into nice small spaces, and is mighty nice to find your way to and from your hunting stand. It works well mounted on my M4 as a tactical light, too. I recommend it.
