Second Amendment - Firearms Ownership Advocacy Groups
Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA)
This organization "is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States [of America]."
Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership (DRGO)
This "project" was started in 1994 by Tim Wheeler, a surgeon in southern California. Three cheers for doc Timothy Wheeler!
Gun Owners of America (GOA)
This site offers a wealth of information for the gun owner, such as how to contact your representatives and senators vote on timely gun issues, and timely news. Email and postcard alerts too, very useful in fighting the anti's.
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO)
These folks have the right idea, and a history as a people that remembers what happens when citizens are disarmed (think Nazi Germany here). Not a lobby, so membership dues are tax-deductible.
Keep and Bear Arms (KABA)
Called the "Gun Owners Home Page." These folks appear to be steadfast and uncompromising, unlike the present-day NRA.
Law Enforcement Alliance of America (LEAA)
This is a "nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of law enforcement professionals, crime victims, and concerned citizens united for justice. Through education, legislation and the political process, LEAA fights to reduce violent crime while preserving the rights of all citizens, particularly the right of self-defense."
Montgomery Citizens for a Safer Maryland (MCSM)
These folks say, "MCSM is a part of a grassroots movement in Montgomery County, Maryland fighting to preserve the U.S. Constitution - which protects our freedom. One of our objectives is to educate Maryland citizens about legislation, misleading agendas and propaganda designed to destroy our Constitutional law."
Mothers Arms (MA) is a National Non-Profit organization dedicated to helping keep women and children safe by mobilizing women through education and training. They help mothers learn to protect themselves and their children through the use of safety rescue tools, knowing their rights about self defense, self protection preparation, and disaster planning.
National Rifle Association (NRA)
Founded in 1871, this organization of U.S. patriots was begun in order to provide safety and marksmanship training to the general public. Too bad they've gone soft on the Second Amendment (in my opinion).
New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc (NYSRPA)
"The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state's largest and oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports."
Second Amendment Foundation (SAF)
"SAF is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms. To that end, we carry on many educational and legal action programs designed to better inform the public about the gun control debate."
Second Amendment Sisters (SAS)
This is a group of ladies who believe in their motto, "Self-defense is a basic human right." Way to go, gals!
Tennessee Firearms Association (TFA)
This is "a Tennessee not for profit corporation formed to promote the right to keep and bear arms and to educate the citizenry on the responsible use, ownership and carrying of firearms."
