Emily Caruso, Olympic Air Rifle Shooter

In a Nutshell:

Emily Caruso knows how to use her air rifle, and she does so very well. She was USA Shooting Air Rifle National Champion in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, and placed 9th the 2004 Olympics. Born in Connecticut, USA in 1977, she is a graduate of Norwich University in Vermont, where she obtained a degree in psychology.

Emily won first place in the 2008 Olympic qualifier, coming through on day three after a weak beginning.

Not Your Typical Shooter:

Although she started young (age 11) like many shooters, Emily isn't a hunter. She doesn't oppose it, which speaks well for her good sense. She's also a vegetarian, due in part to being lactose intolerant.

A Passion for Olympic Shooting:

Emily considers Olympic Shooting to be one of her passions, and she pursues it diligently. like other competitive shooters, and competes in competitions throughout the year and trains regularly.
