Notching an AK-47 Safety Selector Lever for Bolt Hold-Open

Now, put it back onto the gun and try it out. Mine worked fine, but the notch needed to be deepened on the rear end. As you can see in the picture, I decided to taper the rear of the notch to make it easier for the bolt handle to be "caught" by the handle as I eased the bolt forward while pressing upward on the safety lever.
  1. Decide Whether or Not to Cut Your AK's Selector (Safety) Lever
  2. Mark Your Lever
  3. Gather Your Tools
  4. Make Initial Cuts and Try it Out
  5. Finish Cutting the Notch
  6. Test it Again
  7. Make Final Changes
  8. Blue it
  9. Install and Enjoy!
