Definition: Gun sights are mechanisms, sometimes crude and sometimes very advanced, which allow the user to aim the gun or firearm in order to hit an intended target. The accompanying photo shows a revolver with some of the crudest sights around - but they're still effective.

Gun sights are indispensable in learning how to aim a gun.
