"Bullet"

Definition: A projectile to be fired from a firearm. It can be of an elongated shape (known as conical), or may simply be a round ball of lead fired out of a muzzleloading gun.

Bullet is not to be confused with cartridge, which is a loaded round of ammunition. Bullet refers only to the projectile and, Hollywood notwithstanding, the two terms are not interchangeable.

Pronunciation: bull it (noun)
Also Known As: Slug, Pill, Projectile, Projo
Examples: The bullet was recovered lodged against the hide on the far side of the deer.
