Definition: The ladder stand may be the most common tree stand of them all. These stands are usually of simple design and sturdy construction, and most are fairly easy to erect safely.
Getting in and out of them is not complicated, and the ladder supporting the stand from the ground up can be of comfort to those who shy away from climbing stands or hang-on stands. Oversized ladder stands built for two hunters (a parent and child, for example) are quite nice for one full-sized adult to hunt out of.
Because the ladder stand is just about the easiest type of stand to build, many do-it-yourself hunters prefer them, since they can save money and/or build the ladder to suit themselves.
