I have written in the past that in today's world, gun owners and proponents of civil rights must remain ever-vigilant if we are to avoid government-ordered gun seizures and violent abuse of our rights to self-preservation and self-defense.

In this book, that point is hammered home repeatedly, as it describes multiple accounts of physical, psychological, and mental abuse of citizens by law enforcement, coupled with widespread government-ordered illegal theft of their only means of personal security in that frightening time - legally owned firearms.

The Great New Orleans Gun Grab (GNOGG) is a book that needed to be written... and now it has. Published two years after the widespread abuse and harassment of citizens who wanted nothing more than to be left alone, it still rings with timeliness, and it still haunts the minds of those who value freedom.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, civil authorities around New Orleans declared war on the only thing in their realm that didn't cost them anything, wasn't stealing or destroying, and wasn't falling apart: the peaceful, resolute residents who had decided to stay behind to defend their homes from thieves and looters.

The residents' plan didn't always work, however, because they were descended upon by thieves just the same... and many of them were wearing uniforms. The Second Amendment (along with the entire US Constitution) is just ink on paper, and nothing more, when such things occur.
