SHOT Show 2001 pics

Friday, January 12, 2001

Yet another day has passed at the SHOT Show and I am about as tired and sore as I can get. So, in place of trying to tell you something of what I've seen, I thought I'd share a few pictures with you. Enjoy!

Wonder how much this cost Mossy Oak?

This is my view as I approach the Convention Center. This is a tiny corner of the Morial Convention Center.

Bridge over troubled country boy

It's hard to tell, but these rather huge bridges pass right over the convention center. In the foreground you can see part of the building. Being a country boy, I thought this was notable.

It's a looong way to the end

This is the view in one direction, looking down the main aisle...

Long way this direction, too

...and this is looking the other way from the same place. This is about the halfway point - it stretches literally about a half-mile in either direction.

Double-wide ladders are really getting popular

This is a double ladder stand by Big Oak Outdoors. Several manufacturers offer double-wide ladders - more stand info to come in upcoming treestand coverage.

Browning's goodies

Browning's extensive display of firearms.

Remington's poppers

Remington's hands-on display seemed to offer the most guns - it was certainly the most crowded.

This side of Ruger's display

That side of Ruger's display

Ruger's classy-looking display.

Redfield has returned, goaded back to life by the seemingly bottomless coffers of Blount, Inc.

Redfield is back in the variable-power scope marketplace, under the same ownership as Weaver and Simmons.

I hope you enjoyed these pics. I will naturally have a series of related articles in the coming weeks, about what's new in different areas of the hunting and shooting world.
