Vote Your Guns
By now we hunters and shooters in the USA should all know that our only chance of retaining the freedom to own guns is by expressing ourselves to those in our government. There is no better way to do this than with your vote in this crucial election year!
Al Gore has proven himself to be a liar and a fence-hopper... sound familiar? I, for one, have had eight years too much of being ashamed of those who represent my country at the highest level. I have had enough of the President's office being used against me and my rights. I have had enough of large land grabs via Presidential order using the Antiquities Act of 1906... land grabs designed to restrict access and/or do away with hunting there.
Do not believe Al Gore when he says that he is not after your guns! It's an outright lie.
Under Governor George W. Bush, Texans enjoy the right to carry concealed firearms for self-defense. His Web site proclaimed as follows:
Guns
Governor Bush believes the best gun control measure is to vigorously prosecute
those who illegally sell guns, those who illegally carry guns, and those who
illegally commit crimes with guns. Governor Bushs priority as President
will be to keep guns away from criminals and juveniles. He will make federal
gun prosecutions a top priority, reversing the 46% decline in federal
gun prosecutions under the Clinton-Gore Administration. In addition,
he will protect law-abiding citizens constitutional Second Amendment
rights while at the same time enacting reasonable, common-sense restrictions
on the unsafe use of firearms.
(emphasis added)
What more do we need to make our choice clear?
The choice is yours, fellow hunters and shooters. A waffling, power-hungry current VP who at one time voted to support our rights but now has vowed to do away with them, or a current Governor who has vowed to protect our Second Amendment rights.
Also crucial is the fact that our new president will be making some very important Supreme Court appointments. I do not want to be subject to Al Gore's preferences, as he has shown himself to be a willful trasher of the Constitution, rather than a defender of it (as his current job requires).
I'll be voting for George W. Bush for President of the USA on Tuesday, November 7, 2000. I ask that you do the same, for the sake of all hunters and shooters, past, present, and future. Let's send a message to Washington, D.C. that we are done bowing and scraping to the whims of those in office.
Get out there and vote, folks. Vote your conscience, and vote your guns.
