Answer Products Gun Cleaning Kit

I was approached by Sam Johnson of Answer Products Co. At the time, these folks offered recoil reduction systems, custom rifle work of all kinds, quick-detach scope mounts, and various other products & services. I obtained a set of cleaning supplies, known as the Answer Accurizing Complete Cleaning System. Quite a title, I know, but so far it has proven to be pretty complete.

The Kit:
- 8 fl. oz. Spooge copper & carbon solvent
- 4 fl. oz. 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.Degreaser
- 1.5 oz. (by weight) Wonder Dust
- 1 fl. oz. Bore Guard
- Approx. 10 E-Z Strips
- Instruction booklet, with recommended supplies (rods, jags, etc), info on breaking in new barrels, product info, etc.
All enclosed in a heavy-duty plastic resealable bag with foam base to keep the bottles upright.

I decided a prime candidate for testing this system would be an old Winchester model 94 carbine in 30-30. This rifle's been through a lot in its life, and after my first few shots after I got it, copper was left plainly visible on the lands of the rifling at the crown. Knowing what a chore it would be to thoroughly clean it using the methods I was familiar with, I had simply given the bore a brushing, swabbed it down with Militec-1, and left it at that. This less-than-perfect cleaning didn't really hurt anything, but the bore wasn't really clean. This was one gun that wasn't going to be easy to clean, as it probably had never been entirely clean in its life, and certainly had not been for many years.
