A Comfortable Routine
Tuesday June 24, 2008
Dad and I hunted together for three decades, until the time came when he had to leave us on this lonesome planet. I know the woods will never look the same to me again now that he has gone on to his own Happy Hunting Ground... but I also know that the world itself would not look as beautiful to me as it does, if it weren't for him taking me to the woods, teaching me how to hunt and how to just sit back and bask in the beauty of God's creations.
This little tale is about one of the many times Dad and I hunted independently but worked together, to bring a deer from the woods to the freezer. Many's the time it was he who helped me... now it was time for me to return the favor.
