Back around the time of Big Rumble Two (as Dad used to call it), the Walther P38 came onto the scene. It was, in many ways, a unique pistol, and a good one. The first true double-action 9mm pistol, it included nifty things like second-strike capability (in case of a dud cartridge), decocker, and the ability to function even if its barrel should become bulged.
Besides all its other interesting features, the P38 simply feels great in my hand, and that's a great thing for a handgun.
