Maryland's Black Bear "Lottery"

Gene Deems of Maryland's Department of Natural Resources says it's high time you place a call if you want a chance at a bear permit this year:

"Maryland's Black Bear Hunting Permit Lottery is accepting phone call registrations from Monday, August 25, through Friday, August 29, from the hours 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. only. The phone number to call is: 1-888-579-6768

"Hunters may also continue to register online 24 hours a day through 6 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2008. You can participate by going to: http://blackbear.dnr.state.md.us/
